I have been active in the hospitality business since 2001 and I can assure you that I have experienced a lot of funny, but unfortunately also far less funny things. May be I should write a book about it. Luckily most times people leave the restaurant in a happy mood and they will come back one day again.
However, some people do not enjoy at all. Then you can blame this on the service, the atmosphere, the owner, the food, the prices, the weather and what else you can think of, but unfortunatley most times this is due to these people's attitude/mood.
In a restaurant business, like any other business things can go wrong. Too many people can show up unexpectedly, staff might be ill, or your dish is over or under cooked. It can all happen. Difference with other busineses is that we have to correct these mishaps on the spot. In most cases we can, sometimes it takes a bit longer and sometimes it is just too late.
The way in which people complain/make us aware of things that are wrong has a huge effect on how the issue is going to be resolved. If you wait too long you basically put us in a position whereby it is hard to come up with a proper solution. So do not complain about a steak not well cooked when all others have finished theiir meal. Just give us a sign and we will react immediately.
If you complain about food without even touching it/trying it, well that is the worst of all. We cannot cope with that at all.
We are a family restaurant and are in for most of your wishes and plans. But we also have our limits. And our limitations.
In regards the playground. we have invested over $ 35.000 in equipment and f you do not supervise your kids and they keep on bumping with the pedal carts, please do not get upset afterwards that we took action and told your kids in a clear way that they cannot do this. The carts and flying foxes cost a fortune are free of charge and are not designed to be abused like that. We are as kid friendly as your kids are.
If the owner or anyother staff member is not nice, kind and amicable as always, well then there must be something terribly wrong. Just think and reflect what has happened. In most cases we are as easy going as you and in almost all cases we will find a solution to any issue.
If you are already stressed before you arrive....just stay outside. Take a deep breath. Look at the trees, the stream, the clouds and relax. Then come in.
We really hope you have a good time here at Volcanoview.

We can seat 125 guests. and yes we already have heaps of functions booked. Why? Because we are nicely priced. A dinner buffet with Pork Medalllions, Beef Medallions in Stroganov sauce, Thai chicken, Fish Zarzuele, roast potatoes, chips, tossed salad, rice, grated vegetables, and a super dessert with Pavlova, ice cream, fresh fruit, Bavarois (mousse), profiteroles, warm cherries with whipped cream will cost you $ 35 per head. Do you wish to have hot ham on the bone? Or roast? Or a nice starter? It will never cost you more than $ 45 per head. But there is more and if your budget alllows you can start with smoked salmon, filled eggs, melon and ham, or scallops, prawns in garlic sauce. You name it and we do it. We even do the dishes.
And we cook with our heart. That you will taste.
Beers from $ 5 a handle and all fizzy drinks are $ 3. Wine will cost you $ 29 a bottle or $ 7 per glass.
Under circumstances we are BYO, but be prepared to pay for the corkage that will cover our service and gross margin.
